About Us

The Terlinden family, originally from Rheinberg in Germany, settled in Belgium at the end of the 16th century. Ennobled in 1676 by King Charles II of Spain, the family produced notable figures in law, the military, academia, and the Church. Its coat of arms - a green linden tree on a golden background - reflects both its name and heritage, later associated with that of the du Smet family. Today, around 800 descendants continue to carry this heritage and the shared values forged over generations.
